It is my pleasure to present a brief school report of Vishwadeep Sr Sec. School, Durg for the year 2012-13. At the outset, it is right and fitting that we thank the ever loving God, for his loving presence, guidance, protection and inspiration during these years. I would like to acknowledge the cooperation and guidance rendered by the members of the Franciscan Clarist Sisters’ Society, the members of the school managing committee, the respected DEO, and other officials of Central Board of Secondary Education Department Delhi & Bhubaneswar, the parents, well-wishers and staff members, for the smooth running of the school.
Vishwadeep Senior Secondary School, Durg, is an unaided, minority run, Co-educational English Medium School, and has classes from Nursery up to class XII. The school was established in 1969, and is run by the society of Franciscan Clarist Sisters, which is the education wing of FCC Vijayawada Province. From 2003, the School is affiliated to the Central Board of Secondary Education, Delhi . At the Senior Secondary level it offers three streams, namely, Mathematics, Biology and Commerce.
The vision of our school is the acceptance of the father hood of God and universal brother hood. The aim of our school is the formation of integrated persons, so as to equip the child to radiate peace to transform the society. Through our mission we try to create an atmosphere of peace and joy in the society.
Presently there are 3076 students on the roll; there are 107 teaching and non-teaching staff members. We run the school in two shifts. From its inception, the school has been nurturing young minds with holistic and goal-oriented education. We also run Hindi Medium from classes I to V affiliated to C.G. Board for the poor and marginalised. Thus 215 students are getting educated from our school during this academic year by the grace of Almighty God.
Academically our students have always performed well in the local and Board Examinations. Kumari Ayushi Tiwari of Mathematics Computer Science, secured 94.6% in Class XII CBSE Board Examination 2012. The students of class X, Kumari Linkita Dewangan and Master Shubham Dewangan scored 10 points out of 10, for the class X Board Exam 2012.
In order to make the teaching-learning process effective and interesting, various audio-visual methods and equipments, such as DVD player, Computers, LCD projector are used.
The quality of an institution depends on the quality of its staff. We are proud of our Teaching and Non-Teaching Staff. They are well-qualified, adequately trained, highly talented, deeply Committed and have vast experience to their credit. Our teachers continuously update themselves on their subjects, current affairs and on the latest educational methods and technology. In-Service programmes and seminars for teachers are organized on a regular basis.
The school takes good care of the core of academic learning in the school, such as the classrooms, labs, library and the campus. Co-curricular and extra-curricular activities are an integral part of the educational programme of the school. Sports and games, music, dance, art and craft, environmental activities and cultural celebrations are conducted in tune with the requirements of the Continuous and Comprehensive Evaluation scheme as per the CBSE norms. Regular competitions are held to encourage their skills among children to appreciate and imbibe national, cultural, constitutional and other universal values. Students take part in different types of interschool and other competitions.
To facilitate the activities and competitions under the CCE Scheme, students have been divided into four houses.
In order to help students develop and appreciate the value of leadership, students are elected or nominated as School Leaders, House Captains and Class Monitors. Social Functions and other gatherings are organized whereby they get opportunities to exercise their responsibilities.
The students under the guidance of Teachers and through Scientific Exhibits, Projects ,Seminars, increase their different levels of skills. We have many highly talented students who are good at fine arts as well as performing arts. You will surely see some of them on the stage this evening.
NCC and Red Cross function very well in our school. Mrs. Santhoshi Soni is rendering her services as N.C.C officer.
God has bestowed a beautiful boon on humankind in the form of ‘Teacher’ He is a redeemer for the one who has taken a wrong path. He is the one who performs every kind of role in the life of his student. He is the potter who gives shape to the wet-earth and feels the ecstasy of receiving the well shaped model. They are revered for the care and concern they practise for children. This is what give them an inimitable place in the lives of the students. In the battle of this process of education they have to be like soldiers, fighting for their purpose which obviously must be students oriented. On this special occasion as we honour our loving senior teachers, they are very true to their lives. Dear loving teachers : Sandy Sir, Ms. Mishra, Ms. Samuel, Ms. Shobha, Ms. Sneha Joshi, Mrs. Madhu Soni, and Mrs. Shail Gupta, we salute you ! yes, we are proud of you, dear teachers. The qualities of yours, very specially the dedication, efficiency, and hard work in updating your knowledge will reward you, through the love and affection you receive from your students. Majority of your students will be cherishing fond memories of Vishwadeep. The former principals Rev. Sr. Anie Clare, Sr. Fatima, Sr. Beatrice, Sr. Maria Goretti, Sr. Alphonsa Abraham and Sr. Alphonse Mary and all the other sisters and teachers with whom you spent the years together - in your memory cards gifted by the Almighty God - every thing will be recorded in golden letters.
